Course objectives
The workshop is open to students of any mother tongue with a minimum level of B1 competence (CEFR) in at least one Romance language and it aims to allow the development of written intercomprehension skills, through the use of the main strategies.

Results of learning outcomes
At the end of the workshop students will
- know the principles of the intercomprehension approach;
- have acquired some basic elements of Romance linguistics and the main strategies of written and oral intercomprehension;
- be able to read and listen to texts in different Romance languages;
- have developed strategies for understanding and learning a second language and interproduction strategies.
- be able to communicate in IC with people speaking different romance languages.

Course delivery
The course it will be carried out in integrated mode (COIL) :
- eight face-to-face lessons on Fridays from 11am to 2pm;
- asynchronous online activities for individuals and in multilingual teams;
- online synchronous meetings on dates to be defined with UNITA students.

The preparation will be assessed by mid-term activities and a final examination.

The programme includes:
- Theoretical framework of intercomprehension;
- Discovery of the main strategies of written and oral intercomprehension;
- Reading and listening to documents (national and international news, disciplinary texts) in different Romance languages;
- Focus on students' personal skills and language biographies;
- Interaction with students of different Romance languages.
